Located in Beitou District of Taipei City, Taiwan, Katagalan Culture Center is close to the Beitou Hot Spring Museum and only about 300 meters away from the MRT Xinbeitou Station. Katagalan Culture Center is a 10-story building that houses an aboriginal culture display hall, a multimedia showroom, an aboriginal theme library, research features, conference and performance area, rooms for cultural and historical studies, and a souvenir shop.
Beitou was originally the home of the plains-dwelling indigenous people, the “Katagalan” or “Pingpu” aboriginal tribe. Katagalan Culture Center was established in 2002, providing an ideal place to trace the history, social structure, customs, religions and beliefs of Taiwan’s indigenous people.
